Arsenal beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 on 30 November 2010 at the Emirates Stadium for the Carling Cup Quarter Final 1st Leg. Five years without a trophy of any sort has prompted Arsenal's manager to start treating English football's third-choice trophy with a little more respect by picking a stronger team.
Van Persie have had a good return. He looked sharp, and was at the heart of most of Arsenal's creative football.

Arsenal 1 – 0 Wigan : Antonlin Alcaraz (own goal) Arsenal 2 – 0 Wigan : Nicklas Bendtner
